Compliance notices

Under the Environmental Protection Act 1986, closure notices, environmental protection notices, vegetation conservation notices or prevention notices can be issued to control certain activities. These notices are usually issued to prevent an immediate threat of environmental damage. Compliance notices are generally issued by the Department of Environment and Conservation. Local governments are usually responsible for issuing environmental protection notices relating to noise. The following types of appeal can be lodged against compliance notices:
